Live visual processing changes the incoming world continuously. This is the difference between modulation and a filter: a filter modifies a captured image, modulation operates on a live physical environment as it changes.

03More than a filter
A conventional filter modifies a captured image. Reality Modulation operates continuously on a live physical environment, changing visual perception as the environment changes.
This distinction matters because it determines what the technology can honestly claim. A filter can make a photograph of a forest look extraordinary. Modulation is concerned with the forest you are standing in, for as long as you are standing in it.
